One of my favorite artists, B’ee, who’s behind In Gowan Ring and Birch Book released The Serpent and the Dove in September this year. Ever since the album has been really opening up depths and has been played to the joy, relaxation, dreaming and also our baby Florens likes the mood of it. The last album released by In Gowan Ring was in 2002 with Hazel Steps Through a Weathered Home – between that time there’s been great Birch Book releases. Symbolically he released the lastest album on the autumn equinox and since that lovers of psychedelic folk music have been happy.
In a jar of alchemy.
The new album sounds as one expects and I’m still exploring the subtleties of the album. There’s plenty of long forgotten European mysticism in the soundscapes and the lyrics. I made a video to celebrate this, cutting tighter scenes from the Czech films Kytice (2002) and Fruit of Paradise (1970) The music of In Gowan Ring really blends well in those visual excerpts from the films. For purchase of his music and more info check out his website InGowanRing.com.
Here are some songs from a live performance in Gothenburg Sweden, 29 April 2014.
