First Half of May

May kicked off well in the spirit of hiking. With a still not firmly present springtime I take the chance to get out on every good pair of days without rain. This is from two islands on ‘Västkusten’ called Dyrön and Orust (Sweden’s third largest) where I went to Svens Altare.

Late on a Monday we decided to go on a trip and camp for a night in Västergötland. The weather has been bad to say the least but the heavy rain was due to stop and the day after to be quite good. So in with some stuff and off we went. I revisited some sites from before and saw some new ones. We visited Gudhem Abbey Ruins, Varnhem Monastery and ruins and the ancient megalithic site of Ekornavallen. There were other stops on the way and one caught on camera was Floby Military Surplus store. All in all, the weather didn’t stop us and I got to try out some equipment and get in the mood for the summer to come.
