First Baby Flight
We had our first flight with our baby, a short one straight from Gothenburg to Mostar. The airport stay and flight went fast and also having a baby let’s you pass the line, onboard and off the plane. A pleasant first surprise about traveling with a baby. Before and during takeoff all focus is on breastfeeding and relaxing, same as with the landing. It went smooth this time, no screaming, hassle or trouble.
Wonderful Nights
It’s 1 am and the rain has been getting heavier and heavier while the lightning and thunder is going on strong behind the mist, that literally gives about 200m sight. I can’t remember since when I’ve seen this kind of sky spectacles live. Here in Mostar I remember, as a kid, experiencing the red sand storm but it’s been long ago I was under a storms eye.
As the Sunday morning arrives with a storm my wife and baby are asleep, like the whole town seems to be. With that said, there is something über poetic about this, as I sit in a soft chair, having window panorama view over the scenery. The dull and grey day finally payed off nighttime with the sky spectacle. Then after a while it becomes again the steady dull rainy weather.
Mornings
The Town
If you’re coming here with a baby, be prepared to change diapers on a good street spot. The café’s and other places you might visit are not baby-friendly. There is never a changing table so be prepared and carry around some diapers, lying pad, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and things like that. Also, the streets aren’t so troller friendly, especially in the Old Town with all the bricks. We use only a Babybjörn baby carrier which is comfortable and Florens faced the front when awake and wondering, then my chest when sleeping and resting. I’d really recommend a baby carrier because everything in Mostar is at a walking distance anyway.
