On this years roadtrip to the Norway I drove up to Rondane mountain range, as it is the first mountainside stop coming from the south on E6. In the valley before Rondane there is the small town of Ringebu and on the Sunday I was there it was dead empty, only the train station had some activity. From Ringebu you can drive the lingering road up to the Rondande mountainside. There is a small place called Venabu that offers a food store, shop, church, horses, bar and Wi-Fi! It looks good and isn’t cluttered with kitsch or too many tourists. But the weather isn’t the best during my stay, even if I got the best of the day and some clear skies for some hours. Anyway, in Norway there is always something to see driving around on the smaller roads – like a beautiful place to stop at and have a cup, some small church, look at sheep that roam around freely and some interesting shops. In the summer it never really gets dark, so the ambient is nice and you can have the routine you want.

June 29, 2015You should have been here on saturday. Every saturday during the summer it’s packed in the center. Saturday market.
Maybe next time :)
Found this blog by random when I searched for Ringebu.

June 29, 2015Hej Tor!
It’s one of my favorite places, that whole area. I’ll come again and bring my family for sure. Although last time I liked the desolate and empty ambient during my visit. Can’t beat that enthusiastic feeling of driving up and up and up after Ringebu to reach the Rondane plateau. Spectacular!
